About Coed y Brenin Forest Park and the surrounding area

Coed y Brenin Forest Park

Whether you are looking for an adventure packed visit to mountain bike, run or hike the forest trails; a family holiday or romantic getaway; or are simply looking for a quiet escape to relax and unwind, we think that you will find it all here.

The cottage sits right in the centre of the forest and is perfectly placed for  accessing all of the jewels in the 'Coed y Brenin crown'. You can roam freely beyond our boundary wherever and whenever you want.

Beyond the forest

Despite our remote feel, we are only five minutes  scenic drive from Ganllwyd village, fifteen minutes from the historic market town of Dolgellau and twenty minutes from the pretty coastal town and beaches of Barmouth.

If the mountains of south Snowdonia appeal to you, a short drive takes you to footpaths leading to the spectacular Cader Idris, the wild Rhinogedd, Aran or Moelwyn. Hike or cycle the beautiful Mawddach estuary trail from Dolgellau to Barmouth, or visit the imposing castle at Harlech.

Snowdonia National Park

The Snowdonia National Park is an extraordinary part of Wales. It is a landscape shaped by glaciers and men; a land where ancient history has left its mark; a land of legend and folklore, Celtic culture and language.
