Fantastic! *****

We have had an amazing week here,John & Tyr are so helpful and friendly and Rosco's welcome was so lovely. The cottage is beautiful, the views are stunning. We didn't want to leave. The visitors centre is fantastic, walks and bike tracks for all abilities. We hired bikes from there and they were great, we had a lot of fun. So many walks straight from the front door. The waterfalls walk is superb. Beach near by Barmouth had a dog friendly section and was lovely. Thank you for a great holiday and look forward to coming back.PS thank you for the eggs they made a lovely breakfast.

Absolutely stunning! *****

The cottage is beautifully restored and it has all the creature comforts that you might need. Not that you will use them much because you’ll want to be outside enjoying the views and fresh air because this is an absolutely stunning location and none of the pictures can truly do it justice. It provided the perfect base for our mountain biking and walking and the Coed y Brenin mountain bike trails (as well as many gorgeous walks) can be accessed via the farm (on foot or bike) so there’s not even a need to load up the car again if you don’t want to. The owners John, Tyr (and Rosco) are lovely people and they were always happy to help if we needed anything, including advice about the local area. As exhausted as she was, even our dog didn’t want to leave! She’d just sit there staring down the valley at the mountains and probably wishing, like us, that we lived there. If you want to enjoy the countryside and the peace, quiet and stunning views then this is the place for you.

Absolutely Perfect *****

What a fantastic place. Perfect location and facilities. Our little boy, Daniel asked if he thought they'd sell it as he didn't want to leave! Lovely owners, eggs left for us on arrival and a lovely dog to welcome us when we came back which was a big hit with Daniel. We are going back soon for another weekend of heaven 😊 Spot on for everything we wanted 😊

Lovely, peaceful place to stay *****

We did enjoy every moment staying there. From very beginning until our leave. We arrived quite late approx. 10pm. The owner welcomed us and showed around the facilities. Since we were coming to do some mountain biking we asked would it be possible to leave late afternoon on Sunday after coming back from the cycling. The owner kindly confirmed and said this is not the problem at all on this occasion because there was no one arriving after us. The owners were very friendly and helpful. In the morning they gave us some fresh eggs. It was very kind of them. They were always there if we needed something. The property is very cosy. It is a small fairy tail house in the middle of the forest. Definitely would love to come back.

Spectacular! *****

This is the second time we've stayed here and once again a fantastic place to stay, very friendly owners, nice and secluded surrounded by woodland for fantastic walks with our dog. There is an eco woodland centre near by,but not too close, where you can have a snack and some refreshing tea after a long walk.Dolgellau is a short drive away where you'll find plenty of fine places to eat and you'll find everyone very friendly, you've got to try this place if you want to get away from it all

Peace and tranquility *****

This beautiful old cottage has been so sensitively renovated and has everything you would want for location to just be quiet in the country! Very tidy and clean, with all you need for cooking. Tyr and John are so friendly and helpful. The farm eggs are so yummy! The views from the front, across the valley, are stunning at any time of day, or whatever the weather. Bring your binoculars, bird books, and tree guides. We forget, in this day and age, what real darkness at night is, and how many stars are in the sky!! With Coed y Brenin forest right out the door, you can put the car keys away for a few days, and be perfectly happy! Would recommend this to anyone, just to chill-out. Thank you for letting us share it. Sharon

Fabulous *****

Stayed for a walking weekend. Fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. I was walking Y Garn on the Sunday and it was literally a 6 minute drive to our meet point. Beautiful cottage, lovely comfy beds. Lovely and clean. Farm eggs a super bonus.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location *****

Myself, my husband and our two Labradors had a wonderful break at Cefndeuddwr Farm. The cottage is beautiful with all the necessary facilities and, the location is just perfect. From here we were able to walk straight into Coed Y Brenin forest and spend a day exploring. Snowdon was also in easy reach - just a 40 minute (beautiful) drive away. Just lovely!

Fantastic *****

Had a fantastic time, John & Tyr are really helpful and friendly. The cottage is great, nice and secluded and with close easy access to the Forest for lovely walks. Nice to have some fresh eggs on arrival left in the cottage. If you like the outdoors and seclusion then this is the place for you. We found everyone all around the area very friendly and some lovely pubs and restaurants near by and highly recommend the visitor centre in the Forest for some cake and tea after a long walk. Will certainly be returning. The best cottage we've stayed at yet. Many thanks John & Tyr.

Lovely Cottage *****

Great cottage in a lovely part of Snowdonia. Coed y Brenin is superb for walking and mountain biking! Dragons back and beast trails highly recommended. From the cottage you can walk or bike to visiter center in 10 minutes or so, meaning no car parking charges!! Tyr and John and Rosco are very welcoming and have a lovely area of secluded land yet with good access to nearby Dolgellau and the coast.

It was great (so we're going again!) *****

Absolutely great week for us (parents and 2 children). The cottage is super-cosy and the location is just perfect. Open the front door and you can't see another building, just fields, trees and hills. Coed-y-Brenin is an area that we already knew a bit from previous holidays and visits to the mountain biking centre in the forest, but this holiday gave us a new perspective. We were able to cycle from the cottage down to the trail centre in 10 mins so we cycled every day (including some great night-time rides). Also visited the castle and swimming pool in Harlech (both good). The cottage is beautifully renovated and appointed, being surrounded by fields and trees makes you feel very removed from everyday life! Tyr and John made us feel very welcome indeed and the basket of eggs awaiting us on arrival was an unexpected treat! Special mention for Roscoe the dog, who greeted us like long-lost family at every meeting! We had such a great time that we've already booked to spend another week here - can't wait!

The perfect peaceful retreat *****

Picture the scene, sitting outside watching the sunrise across the forest and having sheep graze within feet of you while in the background you can hear chickens, ducks and geese....welcome to Cefndeuddwr Farm, a lovely place to be. Our stay in this wonderful cottage on the farm was true bliss, so peaceful and tranquil, just driving up to the gate and through the farm was a joy with the chickens, ducks & sheep roaming around. John & Tyr were the perfect hosts on our perfect break. We had fresh chicken & duck eggs from the farm which were superb. The cottage is literally on the doorstep to the forests with great walks to be had. The view from the cottage is fantastic. The cottage itself was very clean & comfortable with everything you need for a great holiday, it has very large old oak beams inside which adds lots of character to the cottage. I can't recommend this cottage enough, it's in a lovely part of Wales on a farm with animals roaming about and is situated on a valley ridge with stunning views....what more do you need? We even had a camp fire at night, oh and that reminds me, the sky at night here is full of very bright stars and while standing outside there are bats flying around as well...so even at night it's interesting. I live in a busy town so just being on a farm was a pleasure. Before I go I need to mention John & Tyr dog, Rosco, such a lovely friendly dog, he greeted us many times at the farm gate with his tail wagging, he also came up to see us while Tyr was feeding the cows and we must admit we did give him the odd bit of chicken. We would recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat that's within easy reach of many locations to visit in North Wales.

Picturesque and peaceful  *****

Had a wonderful week here. Enjoyed the peaceful and most picturesque setting. Loved sitting out on the bench first thing in the morning taking in the splendid views. Cottage has everything you need, would have liked a patio table to have our meals outside as the weather could not have been better. John and Tyr made us welcome as did the sheep and all the other animals. Hope to be back sometime soon. Would recommend the Precipice Walk which is in the guide book in the cottage. Thank you for sharing your farm. Best wishes Lorna and Dave

Fabulous  *****

We feel so lucky to find this bit of heaven! It is a work-of-art job Tyr and John did to the cottage. Very comfortable. Full of character and it has everything we needed. Very convenient to go anywhere from there. So we will definitely be staying there again if we go back to Snowdonia NP again. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and thanks again for those beautiful eggs!!!

Total Relaxation  *****

What a little hidden gem this cottage is. It was absolutely perfect for me & my husband. We took Bobby, our Golden Retriever, and we were all made to feel very welcome by the owners Tyr & John and of course their lovely friendly dog Rosco. The cottage was fully equipped with all the necessities and all you need to take is your own food & drink. The owners very thoughtfully provide the essentials - kitchen roll, foil, salt, pepper, sauce and best of all...fresh eggs from the hens & ducks on the farm. There are plenty of walks from the front door of the cottage and you really are off the beaten track to enjoy total peace & quiet. Situated on the edge of acres of forests you can choose between walking to find the gold mines or head the other way for fantastic rivers & waterfalls. My husband, being a keen photographer was in his element. Beautiful scenery and only 10 or 15 mins drive away from the "Mach Loop" where he photographed low flying fast jets, although I don't think he particularly enjoyed the trek up the mountain with all his equipment! That said, you can also jump in the car and visit lots of beautiful towns & beaches, all of which are within easy driving distance. The local town is also quite handy to stock up on provisions. We didn't venture out at night, instead we chose to bbq and sit outside the front of the cottage enjoying the tranquility and beautiful scenery over a glass of wine. John & Tyr were the perfect hosts and we would definately recommend this property and we hope to visit again in the future. Thank you both for a totally relaxing break.

Just what I wanted  *****

This is definateley a great choice for those who want solitude, stunning views and have a respect for nature. Came for a short break as a birthday gift for my partner whose passion is the outdoors. We both loved seeing a variety of wildlife including deer. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, but no microwave as in details. If you come with provisions there is no need to use your car once here. The forest is 2 minutes down the track with maintained walking and cycling routes but it is also easy to get off the beaten track to observe wildlife and stunning scenery. Even just to sit outside the cottage and admire all is amazing. Tyr provided delicious eggs from her hens and was personable without being intrusive. Question always is would we come back- NO HESITATION!

Absolutely Amazing!  *****

Well what can we say? Words can't really describe our stay. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. The cottage was beautiful and very well equipped. The surrounding area was just stunning with picturesque views with plenty of walks. The highlight was not traffic and solitude. The kids loves the farm animals and enjoyed helping with milking. John and Tyr are the perfect hosts and this will certainly be somewhere we will keep coming back to!

A wonderful break  *****

If you are looking for a peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings and enjoy nature then look no further. This is the one! The welcome from the owners John and Tyr was fantastic and we were so impressed at their willingness to show us around the farm and share the experience. Whilst we were there John and Tyr were busy supporting the arrival of new born lambs and a calf! The cottage itself is compact and excellent. There are so many thoughtful and personal touches from the Oak in the roof structure to the hand made tiles ( by Tyr) in the kitchen. A real labour of love! We can`t wait to return to relax, enjoy the animals and soak up the views!

Tranquility  *****

We have just recently returned from a very relaxing and peaceful stay at Cefn Deuddwr. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to any families or groups of friends who are looking for cosy base for the week. Ideally placed the cottage is very convenient for the Coed y Brenin visitors centre with it's well maintained, well signed and exhilarating trails for bikers or ramblers, with the added benefit being that days excursions can begin at the cottage, so no loading of bikes or paying for parking! The owners J and T are very welcoming and friendly, and the cottage is well equipped. We would recommend Roberts cafe in Dolgellau for good coffee and amazing (hummingbird) cake. The lady in the wool shop (Knit One) is ever so helpful. And the new gallery near the bus stop is very well worth a visit...
